Lachhiwala – Lachhiwala is a popular picnic spot, which is on DehraDun – Haridwar/Rishikesh highway. The spot is just 20 km from DehraDun, with motorable road connecting the city to picnic spot. The picnic spot gains tourist attraction during summers due to river flowing through where the tourists may chill down. On either side of the river, there is beautiful park for children to enjoy. There is ample parking available at Lachhiwala. Doiwala, a small suburb is very close to Lachiwala, where tourists can find multiple eating points and hotels. Doiwala also has its own railway station.

 

George Everest House – This is an unexplored picnic spot which is close to Mussourie (just 4 km). The tourist spot is named after Colonel Sir George Everest, who was a surveyor, geographer and Surveyor General ofIndiafrom 1830 to 1843. The road to George Everest House is not in the best condition, but the beautiful views offered by the picnic spot are worth the effort. The tourist spot offers great views of snow clad Himalayas as well asDoonvalley. The tourist spot is just 40 km from DehraDun and worth the visit. There is also a house situated at the spot, supposed to be where Colonel stayed, which is under jurisdiction of Archeological Survey of India. The house which is not in a great shape as of now, needs renovation, but still the spot is worth the visit. Please note, the spot is still unexplored and there are hardly any eating points near the tourist spot.

 

MDDAPark– MDDA park is located at Rajpur, which is around 10 km from DehraDun. The park is well maintained and lots of localites visit here during summers as well as winters. In winters the park has a big lawn with playing area for the kids, whereas the adults can just relax in the sun. In summers, the park has lot of benches located in such a way, that offers beautiful mountain views. There is a small canteen as well, for the tourists to buy snacks and tea. Outside the park, there is a famous sardarji pakore wale shop, famous for hot pakoras.
