HISTORY/SITUATION/GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION
1. St. Thomas’ College, Dehra Dun was founded on 15 January 1916 by St. Thomas’ Day School Society, which is registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is run under the Management of a Board of Governors.
2. The College is situated at Cross Road in the residential area of Dehra Dun, quite close to the Dehra Dun–Mussoorie Road, the main route of all public buses, and so is easily accessible from all quarters of the town.
3. The Institution is a Government recognised, co-educational Anglo-Indian College and is open to all nationalities and creeds without any reservations. There are about 2000 boys and girls on roll.
AIMS
1. The College aims at a sound basis of education along modern lines, and the programme of instruction is designed to produce a sense of vocation and spirit of service to the country.
2. Care is taken to develop integrity of character, initiative and courtesy.
3. Moral instruction is imparted to all pupils, the object being to make them worthy citizens of India.
4. Children are trained in leadership and responsibility.
