How to reach from Dehradun to Rishikesh For Your Holidays?

 

Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand is well connected to the major other cities of Uttarakhand. Rishikesh is considered as the starting point of the Char Dham Yatra by major tourists. DehraDun to Rishikesh is a well-connected route, which is hardly 45 km long. The tourists have the option to travel either by buy or taxi, for this close destination. There are a few tourist spots as well on this route, some of them are listed below:

1. Lakshman Sidhh Temple – This is an age old temple, located right on the way of DehraDun to Rishikesh. There is a small route that goes via dense forest, into the temple. The localities from DehraDun usually visit this temple over the weekend.

2. Lachhiwala – This is one of the favorite tourist spot during summers for the localities. There is a river flowing where the tourists can take a bath and enjoy with the family.

3. Jolly Grant Airport – The jolly grant airport is located at the center point connecting DehraDun, Haridwar and Rishikesh, at equidistance. As of 2015, only DehraDun – Delhi flights are predominantly operating from this airport. This airport played a key role during the rescue operations at the time of 2013 Uttarakhand floods.

4. Himalayan Medical Science Institute – This is one of the top-ranked medical institute in the country, which is located next to Jolly Grant airport. Along with the institute, there is the hospital as well.

Dehradun to Rishikesh route passes through the dense forest and is attacked by elephants during late evenings and early mornings. Hence, the tourists need to be careful while traveling on this route.
