Dehra Dun : The capital of Uttarakhand is spread over 1,880 sq. km of Dun valley between the Himalayas in the north, the Shivalik range in the south, the Ganga in the east and Yamuna in the west. The fertile soil makes it home to the best rice, Litchis, Guavava and Mangoes in the entire subcontinent. The mild climate led to establishing of educational and research institutions, and some of the finest Public schools, the Indian Military Academy, Forest Research Institute, The Wadia Institute, The Oil and Natural Gas Commission are headquartered here. Dehra Dun is also an excellent gateway for adventures into the Garhwal Himalayas.
Mussoorie : The queen of Indian hills, was a famous getaway for the British officers of the "Raj", Mussoorie was deleloped from a small village by the British in 1823. In 1925 the Picture Palace (one of the first in North India) was a splendid cinema hall, regarded as being at par with the 'London Theatre' was inaugurated. It was referred as the 'Electric Picture Palace'."
Gun hill is the second highest point in the area from where one gets to see the hustle bustle, and colours of Mussoorie. The hill station still has remnants of the colonial past, though many are in a rundown condition. The town still attracts a host of writers and artists, who spend months at a stretch taking inspiration from the peace and tranquility. Amongst the town's prominent citizens are the likes of Tom Alter and Ruskin Bond!
Detail Itinerary (05 Night - 06 Days)
Day 01 : Arrive- Delhi,
On arrival at Delhi airport meet our representative and transfer to pre booked hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 02 : Delhi - Dehradun - Mussoorie
Transfer to the New Delhi stationin the morning in time to take the train to Dehradun at 06:50 hrs. Arrival at Dehradun by 12:15 hrs. On arrival meet our guide at the station and transfer to the Mussoorie by road. Evening free to explore the Mall road. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 03 : Base Camp
After breakfast 6 kms Trek to Jwala Devi with packed lunch from Jwala Devi view of Himalayan peaks, Yamuna river and Mussoorie valley. In the afternoon trek back to Camp. Dinner and overnight stay in camp or Hotel.
Day 04 : Base Camp
Depart for the Bhadraj temple with packed lunch on a 12 Km hike. From Bhadraj temple, the view of Himalayan peaks, Shivalik ranges, Doon valley, Dakpather and Asan Barrage are worth it. In the afternoon retrace your footsteps back to camp or Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in camp.
Day 05 : Base Camp-Kempty Fall-Dehradun - Delhi
After breakfast trek 8 Kms to Kempty falls with packed lunch. After bathing and enjoying at Kempty falls, drive back to Mussoorie and thereafter drive 50 kms onwards to Dehra Dun. On arrival transfer to the Dehra Dun Railway station in time to catch the train to Delhi. On transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 06 : Delhi-Departure
Morning sightseeing tour of Delhi in the evening transfer to the hotel time to catch flight for onward destination. |
