1. It is belived that at Neelkanth, Lord Shiva drank the venom produced during 'Sagar Manthan' which turned his throat blue and hence this place was named as Neelkanth.

2. Lakshman Jhula was built in 1939. Lakshman, brother of Lord Rama crossed Ganga River on a juter rope from this point.

3. Swargashram was founded by Swami Vishudhand, also known as 'Kali Kalmi Wala' (One with Black Blanket)

4. Sivananda Ashram was founded in 1932 by Swami Sivananda, who was a distinguished Hindu spiritual leader. This ashram promotes spiritualism in the region. This ashram runs various charitable and spiritual institutes, such as Sivananda Ayurvedic Pharmacy, Yoga-Vedanta Forest Academy, and Sivananda Eye Hospital.

5. Ram Jhula at Rishikesh is also known as Shivanand Jhula.
