The Omkarananda Saraswati Nilayam is a co-educational English Medium Public School affiliated to the council for ICSE, New Delhi. It was founded by Paramahansa Omkarananda Saraswati on 1st December 1983 with just the nursery and kindergarten classes. In July 1985 provisions was made to teach students up to class 5 and the school had 374 students on its roll. Since 1985 every year another class was added. In 1990 we sent our first batch of class 10 students for ICSE Examination and the ISC in 1992. In spite of its young age the school has gained a great deal of popularity in and around Rishikesh because of the excellent care and attention paid to all – round education and development of each student of the school. The location of the school is ideal for an academic institution. The school compound is spread over a large area and has sufficient place for playgrounds and for carrying out the multifarious activities of the school. The school’s trained, experienced and qualified teachers impart educational instruction on most progressive and modern lines.The school got its permanent affiliation with the council on 1st January 2003.
We consider school as powerful agency in forming fully alive human beings to bring about a just society. The school aims at creating individuals who are physically fit, intellectually sharp, morally sound, psychologically balanced, imbued with the sense of the Divine, committed to the cause of the justice, love and peace and ever open to further growth. The school aspires toward creating society, free from prejudices, superstitions and discrimination based on sex, religion, caste and characterized by respect for the dignity of the human being, leading to concern for each other, especially the under-privileged. For the attainment of this goal we expect parents and teachers to share this vision and to cooperate in making it a reality.
