It's not easy to crack the government jobs. You can say it's a  known fact that the people preparing for these are under a lot of pressure and are clue less. These jobs are unpredictable and all they ask for is hard work and dedication.

There are mainly two sets of organizations handling or to say conducting the jobs, the UPSC and SSC . They conduct the varied government job examination across India. Exams for National Defence Academy and Naval Academy, Indian Forest Service, Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants), Combined Defence Services (II), Combined Medical Services, Civil Services, Engineering Services, Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist, Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service.

Whereas the Service Selection Commission conduct examinations for conscription of the lower categories of posts.

Open Competitive Examinations for recruitment to the posts of Lower Division Clerks in the various Ministries/Departments, Attached and Subordinate Offices of the Government of India, including those participating in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service /Indian Foreign Service (B), Railway Board Secretariat Clerical Service and the Armed Forces Headquarters Clerical Service are under SSC board.

Other than these, the government organizations of the state conduct examinations at their level. FCI, RRB, UK police (Uttarakhand police), ITBP conducts examinations separately for recruitment. Lately the UJVNL (Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited) conducted examinations for the various posts in the organization. The state specific exams are conducted by the UKPSC and UKSSC are part of the UPSC and SSC respectively.

From civil services to defense, all Government departments held examinations for the recruitments process, all you have to do is to tap on the websites which keep track of the Government jobs. Nowadays Government manages websites according to their departments individually, you can easily access and check for the vacancies and qualification required according to the posts.

For example UUSDIP (Uttarakhand Urban Sector Development Investment Program) is a few of the many programs operated by government for various sectors, you should tap on these too, where not specifically any organization but the program recruits you.

Also the government run colleges and universities (GBPUAT and HNBGU) especially if you are in Uttarakhand, the large variety of jobs in this sector gives bright future.

For all government jobs you need dedicated hard work and study. You should prepare beforehand and stay connected to the updated syllabus, etc. In the preparation section current affairs, general knowledge and basic information on almost all sectors is necessary. You should read all basic instructions and study well before you are appearing for the examinations (especially about negative marking). Whichever post you are applying for,  you must know the in and out of the department.
