List of Some Most Popular NGO’s in Dehradun

“When a person doesn't have gratitude, something is missing in his or her humanity.”

- Elie Wiesel

In todays world, especially India needs a lot more than just government working for people, we need to come forward to help the less privileged or the under privileged class of the society. In Northern side especially the poverty scale is going down and substantial things are not available for all. Instead of turning your money towards junks and gadgets that may not affect your life as such, try and earn good will, blessings and love. Help others and let the HUMAN in you breathe for once.

Dehradun is an educational hub, there are many Institutes here, but the fee structure of some of the top colleges may blow your mind and there are many among the poorer class who deserves to be the part of these but cannot afford, your surplus money can help them to study and grow in life. Not just this, helping the old, widows, children and physically challenged class of the society comes as a responsibility for us. Being a social animal, we have to cater to the needs of brotherhood, that is what humanity, faith or praying to God means.

For some good work, Doonites can come forward with their part and contribute or work with the NGO’s here, they are doing their part so can you. They are meant for varied actions, for the poor, for child labour, for minority class, for education and all the important issues infecting the society.

Mamata Samajik Sanstha, Sarvagun Society and Alpsankhyak Jan Kalyan Samiti are the ones with an online presence, you can contact them via the Internet.

Other than these Third Eye Welfare society (Ajabpur Khurd), Himalayan Mahila Bal evam Yuva Uthan Samiti (Hathibarkala), Him Jyoti Foundation (Sahastradhara Road), UK Aid (Indra Nagar), Himalaya Sanskriti Sanrakshan Avam Shiksha Sansthan (Hathibarkala) and Adinath Welfare Society (Ansari Road) are also there.

Kalptaru Educational Society (Subhash Nagar) and Sewaa (Dalanwala) organise camps and helps society in the best possible way. You can contact them or any of the NGO’s for that matter or reach them directly to volunteer in the deeds they are doing for the society.

Bond Foundation Society (Kanwli) and Pragati (Rajpur Road) are the ones taking up new projects and creating awareness in society.

Adarsh Mahila Kalyan Samiti helps the women in society, less privileged ones, through varied means. Women today needs assistance or guidance and just a little help can create a bright future for them.

Green Cross Society (Raipur), Gokul Society for Handicapped (Teg Bahadur Road), Navkiran (Shastri Nagar), Disha Foundation (Karanpur) and Sankalp Foundation (Dharampur) these are the known names when it comes to social work in Dehradun.

It does not require a whole lot of money and property to contribute to the society, all you need is the heart, willing to give away, be it from the little part of yours to the smallest part of someone else.

It’s the act of charity which matters not the amount.

Go ahead and Give for Happiness!
